Getting Started
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you're asking this question, chances are therapy could help. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just want to understand yourself better, therapy can be a great tool.
What's the first session like?
Think of it like a conversation where I get to know you and what brings you here. No pressure, no judgment - just a chance for us to see if we're a good fit and start mapping out what you want to work on.
How often should I come to therapy?
Most clients start with weekly sessions, but we'll figure out what works best for you. Some people benefit from bi-weekly sessions, while others might need more frequent support during tough times.
Practical Stuff
How much does therapy cost?
Sessions are $195 and can be scheduled for 55, 45, or 30 minutes depending on your needs. I offer a sliding scale for those who need it - just ask. I also accept most major insurance plans, and I'm happy to help you navigate your benefits.
What insurance plans do you accept?
I am in-network with the following insurance providers:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- UnitedHealthcare (UHC)
- Cigna
If you don't see your insurance listed, please contact me to discuss your options. I'm happy to provide documentation for out-of-network benefits or discuss other payment arrangements.
What's your cancellation policy?
I get it - life happens. Just give me 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Less than 24 hours, and I'll charge the full session fee. Emergencies are always handled case by case.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Absolutely. All my sessions are available both in-person and online. Virtual sessions are just as effective, and sometimes more convenient. We'll use a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform for our sessions.
About Therapy
How long does therapy take?
There's no one-size-fits-all answer. Some people see progress in a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term work. We'll check in regularly to make sure you're getting what you need.
Will you give me advice?
I'm not here to tell you what to do. Instead, I'll help you explore your options, understand your patterns, and make decisions that feel right for you. Think of me as a guide, not a guru.
Is everything I say confidential?
Yes, with a few important exceptions. If you're a danger to yourself or others, or if there's abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, I'm legally required to take action. Otherwise, what you say stays between us.
Still Have Questions?
No problem. Reach out and let's talk about it.
